ABSTRACT

This webinar introduces the recently published volume Disciplinary Literacies in English-Medium Higher Education (Routledge), edited by Davinia Sánchez-García, Ariadna Sánchez-Hernández, and Emma Dafouz. After outlining the need for the book and providing an overview of its content, the editors will engage in a reflective discussion of the challenges and rewards of editing a volume that brings together diverse voices and contexts. Contributing authors who are present will also share their experiences of writing their chapters. The session will conclude with an open Q&A, offering participants the opportunity to discuss disciplinary literacies in relation to their own teaching and research.


SPEAKERS


Ariadna Sánchez- Hernández is Associate Professor at the Department of English Studies at Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. Her research interests include second language pragmatics and intercultural competence, with a special focus on the study abroad context and English- medium education (EME).
